Aman Resorts launches Janu, a new brand

Aman Resorts has unveiled Janu, its first new hotel brand in the luxury hotel company’s 32-year history.
Positioned as a sister brand to the company’s core Aman flag, Janu is named for the Sanskrit word for “soul.” 

Trump Orders New Travel Restrictions Amid Coronavirus Scare

The continued spread of the coronavirus has caused the Trump administration to issue further travel restrictions today.
In a briefing at The White House, President Trump and Vice President Pence – put in charge earlier this week of the U.S. response team to the virus – announced that travel to Iran has been further restricted and advised American citizens to avoid certain areas in Italy and South Korea.

With incentives not moving the needle, cruise lines cut prices

Cruise specialists say that cruise lines are lowering prices as well as offering value-adds and relaxed cancellation policies to try and counter the slowdown caused by the coronavirus outbreak. 
“We are definitely starting to see price-cutting in several destinations,” said Anthony Hamawy, CEO of “The deals are starting to come out, and I expect it to get more aggressive for close-in sailings.”
Hamawy said this was “among roughest times I can remember in this industry” in his 30-plus years.
